View Full Version : 01/19/17 EBOD Recap

January 20th, 2017, 12:21 AM
Tonight was our monthly EBOD meeting so I thought I'd take a moment or two and give you a quick update!!

Membership & financials are strong.

As you know we now have a Land Use Committee Chairperson and the committee's first (we hope of several!) member! Thanks again to Nick Navoni & Mike Timm respectively.

And it looks like we have a volunteer to step into the Trail Ride Committee chairperson's slot - we're just nailing down a detail or two but stay tuned for that announcement also!

The next edition Boondocker is well on its way towards publishing - thanks to all the persons who made submissions!

Coming up in a week and a half (1/27/17) is the Association's Winter Quarterly General Membership Meeting being held in conjunction with SoFO's annual Sno-Fari event. The Quality Inn in West Branch is home to the event again, and the GLFWDA Winter Quarterly will be held at 5:00 PM in the Damon 1 conference room at the Quality Inn.

The Association will also present the GLFWDA Annual Awards next weekend - look for updates on who our honorees are when we recap the meeting later this month!

And there will be an update on the progress of Oakland County Groveland Township ORV Park next weekend also.

Events where Great Lakes will have a presence at this spring are:
> Jeep the Mac, April 21 & 22
> Blessing of the Jeeps, May 6
> Jeeping for a Cure, May 20
> 4x4 Fest, June 24

Member volunteers are welcome (and needed!) to assist at these events. If you're attending anyway, let us know and maybe you can give us a couple hours working the event with one or two of the EBOD members or Committee chairs!

Looking ahead, the Association is looking for a venue for their Spring Quarterly Membership Meeting. After the resounding success of our Fall Quarterly Membership meeting last November (thank you one last time Outback & Dauntless!!) we're looking to repeat that on the east side of the state! At all the clubs on the sunrise side of the mitten state here's your chance to shine!!

To all the super GLFWDA membership: thank you for 'supporting the sport'!
