Well I purchased my first jeep last summer.. 1990 YJ.. rebuilt the motor AMC 258 bored .060 over... 4.0L head conversion NOT fuel injected.. using a holley 2bbl 350 cfm with # 64 jets and a 6.5 power valve... still trying different combinations on the carb.. I used a comp cam ...mild ..for torque..The jeep came w/4in susp lift and worn 33in super swampers... Also i put on a new soft top black w/tinted windows... So im thinking about what to do next ...without puting a ton of money into it at once.. It has stock gears....... :thumb-up:

get educated in offroading, get a winch, then fuel injection, then worry about the rest when you know what you need

:hello: and welcome!
Sounds like all you are missing is some recovery gear, an ORV permit and a map to get you to the Mounds for some play time.

:hello: and as others have said, wheel it and you'll soon find what you need -- those items go at the top of the list, ahead of what you want.

I'd say enjoy it, but I can never leave well enough alone. I would suggest if you have stock gears to keep watching forums for axles from a 4cyl YJ. When I was running stock gears with 31s it just didn't have any power. I found and later(after upgrading) sold both axles with 4:10s for under $200. Seems people want bigger/better axles and that was an easy upgrade. That didn't cost anything in the long run.
