Dear Representative___________

I urge you to support SB 1020 because I believe the following are needed to promote tourism, recreation, and improve the quality of life in Michigan:

Opening SOME M roads for access to gas, food, lodging and area attractions, an economic benefit to local communities.

Two free annual ORV riding days, again, for economic benefit to Michigan tourism.

Raising the DNR event permit requirement from 20 to 75 machines, same reason, tourism.

Greater liability protection for Grant Sponsors, (volunteer trail maintainers) this very same basic language has been in snowmobile statue for decades, simply transferred to ORV statue.

My most sincere Thanks for your consideration and support.

So... whatever happened with this in The House? I am guessing it fizzled as there have been no further announcements?

Unfortunately, the Right to Work legislation pushed our Bill off the agenda. We'll be reintroducing it in the new session.

What needs to be done with this Pat? Anything we can do to get it going again?

Wow that is surprise. I thought it was a done deal. Darn you have to start all over?

Having already unanimously passed the Senate Committee and full Senate once, I don't think they'll be an issue. I'd say just wait for the reintroduced Bill to make it to the House. We could continue to call/ write the House and House Committee, but IMHO it's just as effective to do so during a big 'push' so they're inundated about a Bill currently up for their consideration.
