It's time once again for the fabled and legendary Trolls Fall Color tour!:monkeydance:
*October 8th*
We will be starting in Wolverine this year.http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=rjc8bc7ygs7z&lvl=17&dir=0&sty=b&sp=Point.rjc7ph7ygt3b_Untitled%20item____&form=LMLTCC

Be there by 9:30AM and we'll roll at 10. We will provide a trailside (lakeside) lunch at Thumb Lake.

The ride is doable in any stock rig. (My scout tells me there are 2 sections that need 4WD).

Post up so we can make a reasonable guesstimate of food.

See ya there:thumb:

Burt lake SP. There is a private park near Wolverine, but I don't know the name. Weber lake state forest campground. There may be more that I'm missing. Google "camping wolverine MI"

We might try and get up there for the color tour. I have to see how busy we are going to be at work around then though.

You can always wilderness camp too if you don't need the outhouses.

Mrs P Hittie has a strange fixation with flushing, so we will probably head to the State Park.

Okay, I know I am a bit slow but I am confused. You say we are starting in Wolverine but are we ending there also? This will be our first year so I need more help than a birdseye view of roads. Exactly where are we meeting because when I click on your link I just see a blue number 1. Help an old lady out here please? :banghead:

I'm interested, but a total newbie. Just bought my first TJ a couple months ago. Any chance there's room for a non-member? What would I have to do to be able to tag along?

I'm guessing the same requirements as last year; Show up and have fun :thumb: Last year was a real good time, wish we could make it this year.

CaptNorris5..... just come on out and join us... always happy to show someone around the wood.... promise I won't take you anywhere you can't make it.... having a CB is handy... other than that, just whatever you might want to munch or drink in your ride..... of course no alcohol is allowed, us fourwheelers have enough fun without it... :ahhh:

Is there a place to leave a truck and trailer in Wolverine, or would it be better to drop it at Elmira and drive back to the Wolverine? I see it's only 29 miles back to Wolverine.

Thanks,

Dave

Sounds like I convinced my wife to go. There will be 5 of us (1 is a baby and he won't need any food). It is our first time going on this ride.

About how long does the ride last?

dustyxj
September 19th, 2011, 03:58 AM
it's about 2 hours to the lunch stop.. and around 1.5 hours after at the most... we could make it longer if anyone wants.... where we are ending, is right by the entrance to the jordan valley...

The best way would be at the Elmira gas station since they have more room.

Intersection of M-32 and US-131 about 12 miles west of Gaylord. BP gas station. This will be our ENDING point.

We just pre-ran the route yesterday and it is great!
The colors should be at or near peak next weekend.
The trails had a few wet spots, but there is only one spot that would be a concern for lower clearance rigs, but fear not, there is a bypass!

The plan is to meet about 9:30ish and have a driver's meeting at 9:45ish. A group of about 25 will go when they are ready. About 15 minutes later, the second group will go. This should help move things along. After lunch, we may become one big group, depending on how many people split off after lunch.

See you all Saturday!

Thanks to the Trolls for having us. My dad and I had a blast on our first off-road trip in the TJ. There'll be many more to come for sure.
