Let's not forget that Jim M. was the person who got this kicked off. I was with Pat at St. Helen and the guys asked me if I would help out at the Mounds since I'm local............... and vocal.:lmao:

Did they get enough extra rocks to fill in the big mud holes? :)

No but they did discuss moving some rocks around a bit in between and around the rock crawl challenge areas to discourage the guys who like to play in the mud. Their thinking was that if the mud trucks don't have a straight shot in and out, they will be less likely to play there. Not a perfect solution, but at least an attempt.

Please help me keep this hyped on gl4x4. The GCP has the link to that thread and I want them to see comments like above and understand the general feeling............ not just what Paul or I say.

Not quite to the half-way point, I passed rock #44/80 on my way out this morning. The bucket on the front loader is 4 cubic yards for reference, and one of the equipment operators is standing (not kneeling) next to one of the bigger ones. There are still more materials on the way, including logs, some more rocks (smaller and flatter) and some cement.

 Definitely looks more challenging than just rocks on the ground! :thumb:

Wow, that looks awesome!

I love that they are in the woods. I really like the looks of the rocks at St. Helen for the same reason. Great job! Gives me a reason to want to go to the Mounds now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Please check out the new pics on gl4x4. Also, please come out on Sept 10th for a showing of support. Some of the GCP people will be there along with the construction crew that did the work. I consider this a huge improvement for SE Michigan, not to mention proof that we can work with (some) levels of the government regarding harder courses than 2-tracks.

I'm planning on it. Might hinge on what happens during this weekend's trip to Rocks & Valleys :)
