Not sure if any other hams run an iPhone, but I purchased a very cool app.

Cost is $30

It is a location based repeater directory.

It is filtered by distance and bands.

I figured it cost around the same as a book, and is always being updated so I don't have to keep buying more books to have up to date info.

If I didn't just go swimming with my iphone in my pocket I would share the name of the app. You can just search "repeater" in the app store. I think it is call Freq Finder or something like that. (New phone is on it's way!)

I just looked in the app store and found two apps. The first is Freq Finder (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/freq-finder/id333226119?mt=8) for $29.99 and the second is iHAM Repeater Database (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iham-repeater-database/id382526908?mt=8) for $6.99. No idea if the reduced cost is a reflection of reduced features... just throwing it out there.

P.S. I like "flagging" am. radio posts with "HAM: " in the subject -- makes for a quick decision whether to review or not. :thumb:

Thanks for the info! I, too, have grown tired of having to repeatedly buy the book. This sounds like a winner.

Now, if I could just afford to trade in my regular cell (Nokia 5085) for an iPhone, I'd get the app.

iHam dBase wasn't released when I bought Freq Finder. They look very similar though.
