I NOW HAVE A MAP AND INFO IN PDF (adobe acrobat) FORMAT THAT I CAN E-MAIL if you PM me your @dress.
Friday Night & Saturday - Bonfire, Potluck, Free Primative Camping on my property (Hotels near by), two optional 2 hour trail rides (one clean for the stockers, one dirty for the not-so-stockers), an RTI ramp, take part in a local parade, hang out at a carnival, watch a lumberjack contest or hang out at a carnival, and Polka at a Beer tent.
Sunday - Breakfast on the grill, short easy trailride to a Mud Run. Park all GL members together to promote the club with a box of flyers promoting GL, Participate and or Spectate in the Mud Run (tire size classes up to 33, 34-38, 39-44, Open Class). Shake hands, Hug and Kiss and say goodbye.
I'm thinking August 6-8th. Same weekend as Boyne Falls Polish Fest near my home.
What do you think? Would GL have a problem with this? We'd stick to legal trails and seasonal roads. No drinking and driving or drugs. Just good clean and dirty family fun.
P.S. - Anyone got an RTI Ramp or plans for biulding one? I could also use some excavating service to make a play course for everyone on my property. ;)

I am certainly interested. There has been some discussion about a GL trail ride committee meeting on the 8th. That would be the only conflict.

Sounds like a good time!
I probably would not be able to make it however. I do have an RTI ramp that would be available for your use, just have to figure out how to get it there.
We also could have a trail ride committee meeting there if the trail ride committee was to attend. I know that we had talked about doing the meeting at the fall trail maintenance run on the weekend of august 21. Kinda short notice but if enough folks read this maybe it could happen. If not shoot for next year and make it an event!
Our GL flyers are not finnished yet but I am hoping to have them soon! and make them available for things such as this.

Pat, I am planning on making the trail ride meeting if we do it on the 8th. I could also pick up your ramp to take up to the M&G.

Pat,
I could help you with the flyer. I'm a Graphic designer. The trail committee would be more than welcome to use my livingroom or deck for the meeting. The camping would be on my property. I have a bonfire pit and 3 grills for cooking. I'd buy the eggs for breakfast on Sunday.
I'm located 12 miles ENE of Gaylord. The Trolls would have the shortest drive, especially T-way.
Could you run this buy the GL board and trail committee members and get back to me?
If they say it's ok with them you could send out an e-mail to the membership announcing it. It's kind of short notice, but it's just for fun and no seroius wheeling will be missed by those who don't make it. People don't even have to bring their trail rigs, the mild trails are easy enough for the DD 4x4 and there is always some empty seats for riders.
You can e-mail me at: michiganmuddawgers@yahoo.com
I can put together a pdf (acrobat reader flyer) explaining the M&G with directions to my place along with local hotel/motel info for the non-campers. :P

Another thought. I could ask for a $5 donation for camping to go to T-way for his "Mid-night ride for Diabetes". B)

Since I haven't heard back, and time is running short, here's the lowdown. If anyone wants to camp out in my field, hit the trails near my house once or twice and enjoy the festivities of the nearby Boyne Falls Polish Festival drop me an e-mail at: michiganmuddawgers@yahoo.com and I'll give you directions and move you a 16 x 16 spot in the field for your tent or camper.
If GL wants to have their planned Trail Committee meeting at my house on the 8th they are more than welcome.
Come on up (or down to the uppers and Trolls) and enjoy a summer weekend of casual wheeling and other fun stuff.

I am waiting to hear if the trail ride committee meeting will be there. If it is, we will be there. If it is somewhere else, we will be at the meeting instead. I think the invite is great!

Everyone is welcome. I told Pat that the meeting could be at my house if they want to do it there. So far I have one family coming for Sunday. Looks like I might have to abuse the wifes XJ that weekend. My CJ's Tranny sprung a leak on the garage floor again. If anyone wants to camp just give me a few days notice so I can mow a spot in the field for you.

I sent the directions to Vic. I also asked him how many people are on the committee. I am trying to get a good count for Sunday and I've only had a few people RSVP. Are you guys going to make it over at all on Saturday?
So far it's just myself and White Rhino for the Saturday evening trail ride.
Let me know.

The trail ride committee does not have a set number of active particiapnts.
It is basically whoever shows up and wants to have some input in whats going on.
I do know that Vic and I will only be there on sun. And dice said that he would only be making sunday as well. The Trolls club is canoeing on sat.
I am really hoping that more will reply to this post this week, seems the board is getting more use daily!

So far it looks like about 12 people for the Meeting Sunday, and about 5 pople for the fun stuff on Saturday.
I don't think Pat needs to worry about bringing up the RTI Ramp this time. Maybe next year.

Paul,
We will be arriving some time in the early afternoon Saturday.
I know you are providing b'fast.
What do we need to bring for Saturday?

Bring your meet for the grill and something to drink for lunch and dinner. So far it looks as though there may not be an a.m. trail outing. The p.m. ride is looking pretty small, but I've invited some buddies to show up so we may have 6 or 7 rigs. If no-one else shows Saturday, I'll still garantee you and your wife a fun time.
See you Saturday.
Call me if you need anything.

A big THANK YOU to Paul (Vader5) for hosting this! We had a great time on the trail ride Saturday!
Dinner Saturday night was scrumptious! The big deck was a nice place for the Trail Ride Committee meeting, and the campers appreciated the big yard with plenty of room for RVs and trailers!

You're all welcome. I'm glad the weather was good. It was fun to get to know a few more GL members. I didn't do so great in the Mud Run at the Polish Fest. I didn't get stuck, but my time in the CJ-7 was almost 3 times longer than I used to run in my CJ-5. I had fun though. It's great to hear the crowd cheer for you when they think your stuck and then you claw your way out of a hole.
If we do this again next year I think we should hold the meeting Saturday evening. That way I can be there to defend myself against nominations :)
Thanks to all of you who showed up. I hope to get a chance to wheel with you all again before the seasons over. Even if it's just the Fall color tour.
LOL
